We rang in the new year along with New York. The girls had a great time with the streamers.

Izzy was really into it this year. It was so much fun to watch her. She loved opening every single present even if it was socks. She had a good time and we had a good time watching her.
Grandma Call came to spend the morning with us. Grandpa Call is in the hospital so she came for the morning and left for the hospital after the presents. It was fun to have her with us. Mama and Tata came and joined us for breakfast.
On Christmas Eve the girls got new pajamas. It was fantastic Cherish read Luke 2 for the family. It was such a treat to listen to her read it.
The girls love each other so much. I love to watch them together. We hope you had a wonderful Christmas season.

The girls had their pom poms but after awhile it was just too cold to keep them shaking.
After the game everyone rushed the field so we had to join them.
Jose's brother, Ernie, joined us and we met up with Casey a great friend from our BYU days. Final Score: Oregon State: 20 BYU:44. Enough said. It was a great game, the cold and wind just make for a better story.
The girls were real troopers. They cheered, sang the Cougar fight song and didn't complain. What more can we ask for?
Izzy isn't too sure about the cinnamon bear. She spit it out. Oh well more for me. Those are my favorite.
I couldn't believe what a great job Cherish did. She was so thoughtful about where she put everything.
Izzy made sure she licked every single piece of candy before she put it on the house. She has acquired quite the sweet tooth. She has been know to scale furniture to get to advent calenders. I found her the other day laying on Cherish's floor with the cover ripped off a now empty advent calender with chocolate dripping from her chin. If I say no she will find a way to get it herself. I need to watch out for her. She is going to keep me on my toes.
Thanks Grandma for making this happen every year. We love it so much. Thank you! Thank you!!
She was so excited about the rain I had to let her play in it. She was too cute. She kept running out into it and then giggling. 
I love her precious little smile. She is such a ham. When ever she sees a camera she says cheese and dishes out this cheesy smile.
What little one doesn't love to catch rain on their tongue? If all of these raindrops were lemon drops and gum drops, oh what a would it would be...
Cherish was a Fairy and Izzy was a Bee. They were so cute. Cherish didn't have any idea what she wanted to be and so we made the best of it and recycled parts of her costume from last year. For Izzy everything was exactly the same.
She said her favorite part was when she got to school everyone was talking about her and wanted to ask her questions about why she was painted in stripes. She LOVES to be the center of attention. 
At least the stripes weren't permanent. She couldn't stand the itching so she had her teacher help her take the paint off at their first recess.
Cherish competed in a hula-hoop competition. Everyone won a pom-pom. Cherish was more than excited. She loves to sing the Cougar Fight Song with us and pretend she is a cheerleader.
We were able to go right down to where the Cougars entered the field.
The girls had so much fun watching the game. When we first got there, before we got to our seats, the band was playing and Izzy stopped got really excited and ask "What's that? A football game?" She cheered them on and she shouted "Go Cougars!!"
It was a great game. 
The first half we were surrounded by Aztec fans but we scouted out a spot where we would be closer to the field and surrounded by our fellow Cougars. It was a great move. We had a harder time seeing what was actually going on down on the field but Cherish was able to interact with Cosmo and see the cheerleaders.
Cherish LOVES Cosmo!!! She was so excited to get this picture with him. 
It is a restaurant we discovered while watching Diners, Drive-ins and Dives on the Food Network. It is a great place where the portions are amazingly HUGE!! Jose gets the country breakfast, which is a biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs and home fries. I get the breakfast burrito and the girls get pumpkin pancakes. I only eat half of the burrito so I can enjoy the pancakes because they really are the reason I go. We have gone in the past and they didn't have pumpkin pancakes they had banana, it was very sad. I figured it is October, the season of everything pumpkin, they would surely have pumpkin pancakes now...no such luck. Oh well. I just made them Sunday morning instead.
One of the best parts of going out there is we always stop by the Cabrillo Beach Aquarium. They have a fantastic touch tank. Izzy really wasn't sure she wanted to touch anything but she loved looking. 
They have sea stars, sea urchins, sea anemone, and abalone in the touch tank. Inside the aquarium they have fish and other animals that are native to the water off our shores. They even have a 37 pound lobster. He is huge.
Cherish loves to touch the anemone because they stick to your fingers. I love the urchins because they hug your finger.
Izzy thought hard about touching the sea creatures but she never did touch anything. 
Thank you Grandma and Grandpa. Grandpa loves fish so we knew he would love it here.
Izzy put on her shark face. She is a funny little girl. She is always making me laugh.
They have an area where the kids can dress up and pretend that they are sea creatures and there is a camera so they can see themselves on TV. They also have a nursery so you can see baby creatures. It is a great place and admission is by donation. Recommended donation is $5 for adults and $1 for kids. You can't beat that.
