I DID IT!!!

Back in June I made the decision that I was going to run the Disneyland Half Marathon with Jose at the end of August. We signed up we paid the entrance fee and I began to train so I would be ready for the run. On June 21st silly me was caring too much and I dropped a glass bottle of Coke. The bottle exploded and sent glass flying everywhere including my foot. I cut four of my five toes and it severed the tendon to my middle toe. After all was said and done I had to have surgery to repair the tendon. I was very sad to say goodbye to the my goal of running a half marathon. I was told that I could run 6 weeks after the surgery. When I tried, it didn't go very well. My foot hurt so bad I couldn't walk for 2 days afterwards. I did run another time and it wasn't so bad afterwards. We had decided that my brother-in-law was going to run in my place. The weekend of the race you have to go to their heath and fitness expo to pick of you bib and packet. When I got there the emotion was so high I decided I had to try to run the race. I wasn't going to let my foot stop me.

So we got there at 6:00AM and got ready to run. The first 4 miles were great because they took you through California Adventure and Disneyland. It was so fun. They had the characters out to cheer us on and in the Disney way it was very well organized. Now I didn't run the entire thing but I came close enough. I ran the first 9.5 miles (which is longer then I have ever run in my life. and then I ran walked the rest of it. All in all I walked no more then 2 miles of the 13.1.
Jose is such a wonderful supportive husband. I sure it wasn't easy for him to run at my slower pace but he stayed with me and didn't leave me even when I had to walk. What a good guy.
Thank you to my wonderful sister Tiffany that came down and took pictures of us crossing the finish line. It was quite an emotional moment. I DID IT!
Here are our medals. Yeah we finished!!!
Afterwards we had to sit for about 15 minutes so I wouldn't pass out. My vision started to darken up a little and I was seeing stars. Maybe I over did it just a little. I love this picture. Jose as always is having good times.

Izzy's First Birthday

This weekend we celebrated Izzy's 1st birthday over at Mama and Tata's (Grandma and Grandpa's) house. It was a ton of fun and a huge success. Grandma made a beautiful cake.

It was so hot!!! After hours of jumping in the bounce house popcicles hit the spot.
Izzy was so happy all day . With all of the excitement we never got her to take a nap so I consider myself very lucky that she remained happy.Izzy got her first taste of a pinata. She loved it. She didn't hit hard at all but what to you expect from such a little peanut.
Happy Birthday to you!! Her tummy was so full from carne asada, rice and beans you can see it. It makes me laugh when her tummy gets so big and hard.
Izzy loved the cake. Yummy Yummy
Cherish really wanted some of the cake with pink frosting. Izzy's layer was the only one that had pink frosting so she watched closely with jealous eyes.
This is Juan, my nephew. He is leaving this Monday for Harvard. We are so proud of him and all he has accomplished. We wish him the best and will miss him tons.

Poor Little Izzy

Cherish had a friend over today and all of the girls were having a good time playing in the room. I was in the next room and I could hear all of the girls laughing. Then Izzy didn't seam like she was lauging any longer. When I turned around I noticed that Cherish was spraying her sister in the face with a spray bottle and giggling. When I walked into the room and Izzy came scooting toward me as fast as she could with a look on her face begging for help. She wanted to get away as quickly as she could. When she turned around I notied this large bump on Izzy's Back. She looked like a little turtle. When I emptied her shirt I found four plates, two mugs and a couple of balls.
It's not easy being the youngest in the group but all in all I think they all had fun.

That Was Then...This is Now

They say a picture says a thousand words but I think these speak a million. That was then...

This is now...

It's amazing what losing 60 pounds can do. After I had Izzy I decided it was time to make some changes. I wanted to be healthly for my girls so I started by eating better and I joined Weight Watchers. In the begining for exerceise I would go walking every morning. Then one crazy day, with the encouragement of a friend and Jose I decided to run. Strangely enough I caught the running bug and I learned to love it. I always hated running and now it has become an outlet for me, even a hobbie. With a little hard work and dedication you can accomplish anything.

1

I can't believe my little Izzy is 1. I am amazed how quickly the first year has gone. She is such a little sweetheart. She is growing so fast.

Here is a list of some of Izzy's favorites. More than anything she loves to eat. She will eat almost anything but I did just find out today that she doesn't like cottage cheese. She loves raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, bananas and yogurt. She loves beans, broccoli and green beans. She likes things with alot of flavor and spices. But more than anything she wants what ever anyone else has. There is no way she will let you eat in front of her and not share.

Our little girl loves to dance. She can't hear music without moving to the beat. She loves her big sister. No one can get her to smile like Cherish does. She loves her Daddy. Every time he walks in the door she greats him with a gleeful "DaDa!!"

What a difference a year makes.

I love my girls. I am the luckiest mom alive, even durring the difficult times. I feel so blessed to have some of the best little girls around.
Yeah!!! Happy Birthday to me!!

To the Beat of Her Own Drum

Our little Izzy moves to the beat of her own drum. Since day one she has hated being on her tummy. She learned to sit at about 4 1/2 months and has been sitting ever since. One day she just broke out with this and has been doing it ever since. She is almost one and shows no interest in walking(I'm not complaining) but she has proven her own method very effective.

Cherry on Top

One of your new favorites is Cherry on Top. We love the yummy flavors and the delicious fresh fruit toppings. There is only one small problem. The cups only come in two sizes huge and ginormous. I always end up getting more than I planned. I love that it is self serve and we can get it just the way we want.Cherish loves to sit at the table with the seat in the middle.
Izzy takes every chance to steal Mango and Strawberries from Daddy.
All Gone!!
Evan and Brain even joined us this time.

A Trip to the Beach

This afternoon we were going a little stircrazy and decided to head out for a walk by the beach. It was beautiful but a little too crowded. I must say I love living so close to the beach.
Izzy and Cherish were having a good time watching the fish in the water.
Cherish loves watching the people fish off the pier with her daddy.
On the way back to the car Cherish decided that this was a perfect place to take a picture because it was in the shade. Even though it was by a construction zone it was a cute picture of a cute girl.

What's for Dinner?

When the Pasta Connection closed at the corner of 19th and Harbor Cherish was very sad because she said she was going to miss seeing the picture of the kid with the bowl of Spaghetti on it's head. Mothers be careful what you say because it will come back to get you... I told her that the next time we had spaghetti we could put a bowl of it on Izzy's head and take a picture. I figured I would never have to worry about it because we only eat pasta once every 3 months or so and she would never remember...famous last words. These pictures say it all.

They remember EVERYTHING!!!

Yummy Yummy!!! Izzy loves Spaghetti. Even after her bath Izzy smelled like spaghetti.

Good Times

At our house we believe in having good times. I guess you could say it is a moto we live by. It has become a tradition in our house to play with the girls as we tuck them in. Izzy gets so excited as she waits for the blankie to cover her.

New Camera

Aren't they just too cute. I love these girls

I just got a new camera and I have been having tons of fun playing around with it. Here are some pictures of my wonderful family.

Am I Really Doing This??

I was talking last night with some friends and they talked me into starting a blog. I can't believe I'm really doing this but Ifigured there is no better way to let everyone know how we are doing and what is new with us.
