Family Game Night

The other night we played one of our common games of Trouble. Who can forget the Pop-O-Matic Bubble? It brings back some great memories.
It has become one of Cherish's favorites to play.
Izzy Loves to play too but she largely just puts her pieces on her fingers and tries to steal everyone Else's pieces. Yes it disrupts the game and makes it hard to play but it only adds to the fun.
She also takes her turn with the bubble. She loves to help us roll.
Check it out mom. Look what I can do!!
Nothing beats a good game of trouble with those you love.

two

I can't believe my little girl just turned 2!! Time really does fly by. We greeted Izzy with balloons and singing Happy Birthday when we got her out of bed. She wasn't too sure what she thought about it at first.
She quickly warmed up to the idea.

We made her Eggos complete with whipped cream bananas raspberries and candles. When we finished singing she asked us to sing again and again. She loved blowing out the candles.

Cherish taught her to lick off the candles. After breakfast the girls took a bath and had some fun times.

We went outside and took a couple of pictures. She is such a happy little girl.
What a smile!!
She let go of the balloon and waved bye bye until she could no longer see it.

We had a little melt down. I think she had had enough.
She has the sweetest little face.
Jose came home early and we spent the afternoon and evening at Disneyland. We went on the carousel many times. The Birthday girl just didn't want to get off.
Evan came along with us.
We had a good time on the Ferris wheel
Izzy really liked it in the beginning...
After a couple of minutes she wasn't so convinced. She kept snuggling into Daddy.
SURF'S UP!!!
Izzy tuckered out by about 5:30 and took a long nap. She didn't wake up until about 7:00. All in all it was a great day and a late day. We stayed for the fireworks and still went on Pirates of the Caribbean afterwards.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY OUR LITTLE IZZY!!

It's Official---We're Crazy

Last Friday night the girls were staying with Mama and Tata so Jose and I took advantage and went out. We went to the mall and did a little shopping (much easier without the girls). I needed some new shoes and then we came home. I started to fold laundry and then we got a bright idea. It was Friday night at 10:00PM and we were alone so what did we decide to do? We thought there was no better time to go for a 12 mile run.

We ran from our house around the Back Bay and back home. We left by 10:20 and got home shortly after Midnight. To be perfectly honest, it was very peaceful. Surprise, Surprise there weren't many people out at all. The stars were beautiful and the frog were loud. There is nothing better than spending time with those you love even if it is running at midnight.

Are You Faster Than an NFL Hall of Famer?

We Are!!!Jose and I ran the Freedom Run 10K in Provo, UT on July 4th. It was a great event and we did pretty well. I ran it in 54:16 and Jose ran it in 54:43. We ran the whole thing together until the very end and Jose told me to take off so I did. After we finished we were waiting for our friends that we had started the race with. As we were waiting for them to cross the finish line we saw the one and only Steve Young cross the line. Jose's Face lit up when I pointed out that he had just beat Steve Young, NFL Hall of Famer/MVP. He might be getting old but he is still Steve Young.

Playing With the Cousins

For the Family Reunion we had some free time so we got together at my brother Jared's house in Clearfield, UT to visit and let the cousins play. They got out the water guns and had a good ol' fashion water fight.

The bigger "kids" played a little Guitar Hero on the Wii.
Grandma had fun reading to the girls.
3 of the 7. I think David was outside. The rest were back in CA. We definitely look related. There is no denying we are family.

Temple Square

Over the 4th of July weekend we went to Salt Lake City for a Family Reunion. While we were there we decided to take the girls to Temple Square. We didn't have as much time as we would have liked to spend there but we had a good time with what we did see.Izzy was trying to give Jose kisses. she loves her daddy.
Cherish and Izzy love each other so much. It makes me so happy to see how well they get along.

There was a mommy and daddy quail that took up residence on temple square. They might have been Cherish's favorite part. Jose gave her the camera and let her go to town taking pictures.

Cherish took this picture of us.
We forgot her glasses at home. We realized that we didn't have them in Barstow. At that point there was no going back for them. It's a good thing she is not as blind as a bat.

Life is Good---Indeed

Life is Good has become our family motto. Jose got his first Life is Good T-shirt about 3 years ago and in recent years we have really begun to adopt the attitude. Jose now has about 7 T-shirts, I myself have 4, Cherish has 3 and even Izzy has one. The friendly litte stick figure on alot of the T-shirts is Jake and one of Izzy's favorite things to do is find him and point him out. If he isn't on the front he is usually on the back of the neck. Izzy is always making us turn around so she can find Jake. On our recent trip to Utah we stoped in St George at a Life is Good store and they had this fantastic old fire truck. We had to take some pictures.
As I look at our life it is very hard for me to not see just how amazingly blessed we are. Focus on looking for the good times and you will find them. They are all around you.
We asked someone to take this picture and let's just say they didn't do a very good job. I didn't crop it because I'm still too lazy or dumb to figure out Photoshop Elements.
Just remember Life is Good!! Look for it and you will see it.
